- Leveling System
- Economy System
- Career Mode
- Cases
- Store
- Weapons and Items
- New and Random Dolls for Each Case
- Crafting and Recipe System
Before starting with the update, I want to clarify that I have not implemented the procedural map. Although the system was challenging to develop and integrate, I ultimately found it difficult to conceptualize and fit this type of map into *Doll Impostor*. The fusion between the exterior and interior was very challenging to carry out, both practically and philosophically. In the end, I wasn't satisfied with the result, so the maps will remain static within their locations.
Please keep in mind that this new mode can be very overwhelming since there is a lot of work to do. While I know a user can handle it solo, it’s a lot to manage. This is intentional, as the next update will bring a more substantial co-op element. Working in a team will be much more beneficial for solving cases.
Classic Mode
Classic Mode has not been altered beyond adding money and level rewards for playing. This is useful because in Career Mode, you will need money for various things, and you can earn it by playing Classic Mode.Leveling System
The leveling system works logarithmically and is detailed in some Patreon posts. Some items require a certain level, and as you increase your level, some aspects of the game will become more challenging.- Natural Progression: You earn roughly the same XP per game, so the higher your level, the more you’ll need to play to level up.
- Information: The information about the dolls is related to your level; the higher your level, the less information you get. There's also a parameter called the ratio, visible in each case, where a higher ratio means less possible information.
Economy System
This will be updated further, but you now have an economy. You can buy items and perform various actions that require money, such as finding a new case.Career Mode
Career Mode arises from the need to explain the information we’ve already received in our adventures. We've always searched for an impostor with pre-existing information, but where does this information come from? Who provided it? Well, now we know: it was you, investigating the terrain and the dolls' information beforehand. That's why you know all this information and are so familiar with the dolls.Career Mode is the focus of this update. It brings a single case, which already has prepared dolls, actions, likes, dislikes, an impostor, and a series of factors like location, ratio, whether prices are high or low, etc.
Career Mode aims to overcome cases indefinitely with random dolls, etc.
Cases
Cases are varied and will be saved in your case history. In the current case, you can do various things like turn on the electricity, photograph all the dolls, and use elements to discover the dolls' information. You can travel as many times as you want for a modest amount of money, and each day you travel will be recorded in your case.
There’s also a score and ranking obtained for each case; I know many of you will aim to get S++ in all your cases.
Store
The store is an essential resource. Here, you can buy ingredients to make elixirs, soul papers, flashlights, cameras, etc.Almost everything that involves interacting with the world will need to be acquired through the store.
Weapons and Items
Many of you have repeatedly requested some weapons like a flashlight. I consider any item that can be equipped in the game to be a weapon. The flashlight isn't the only weapon; there's also a camera, fuse, bag, notebook, lighter, elixirs, etc. Each weapon has a purpose that can be utilized. The important thing here is to lay the groundwork for future integrations.
New and Random Dolls
I've added around 86 new dolls, a number greater than the current 60 dolls already in the game. These dolls are only available in Career Mode and will never have original names since they will be used to represent infinite dolls.Initially, I considered creating a procedural or slightly procedural doll, but I ultimately discarded that idea and implemented this number of new dolls.
These dolls have random names, aliases, likes, dislikes, friends, enemies, hatreds, and loves for each case.
Crafting and Recipe System
Along with the store, the crafting and recipe system is very useful, especially at lower levels, as you will need to craft various elixirs, soul papers, and some items to use within the location. There are currently about 10 modest recipes, and they are extremely necessary for discovering information.
