🔋Overview⚡
Hello virus defense force! It's been a little bit but after a break we're coming out with a new update! We have updates to events, difficulty options, and an amazing artbook! We've also updated the infinite mode and late game with a new boss to shake things up so be prepared to fight and defend!
🔋New content⚡
A New Boss has been added into the game! A new type of virus has been invading the PC and by consuming the other viruses around it, it becomes stronger!
We've also added Mysterious Effects! After beating an event, one of the two open events will have a new symbol above it. The pop-up has become unstable and will cause the world-level to increase temporarily by 1! You will earn twice the amount of bits and score on completion. Due to the instability you will also gain a random chaotic effect. There's a lot in there so please hop in!
-
Added Boss to infinite mode as a new challenge for the player
-
The longer the boss is alive, the faster it goes
-

-
Boss health scales with the amount of enemies used to summon it
-
The boss can’t be stunned and isn’t affected by knockback, but will temporarily slow down after being hit
-
The boss also cannot be insta-killed by anything, but insta-kill effects can help players deal good damage

Mysterious Effects! After beating an event, one of the two open events will now have a symbol above it representing a Mysterious Effect. This unstable situation will make the event harder with a temporary world-level increase (by 1), but will reward you twice the bits and score than normal on complete! There will also be a random mysterious effect that changes the game in a variety of chaotic ways (but maybe some of them are actually beneficial…?). We will let you find out what’s hiding behind the chaotic data sections, so hop in and explore!
-
Difficulty selection from main menu (easy/medium/hard) with score scaling based on what you pick
-
A new option in the pause menu to make the game windowed as a temporary fix for ultra wide users
-
Fall damage. You can no longer cheese infinite by just dashing off repeatedly
-
Similarly, you can no longer stand on shops so you can’t cheat certain modes
-
One shot protection: the player can no longer go from 100% health to 0% from one damage instance

🔋Balancing⚡
Looking through feedback and playtesting we found that people initially stick with Robitz. As the game progressed players started leaning towards Catbot to take on larger hordes of enemies as her basic attack pierced enemies.
We made the following changes to Robitz to adjust her to a more single-target focused character to help pick off big threats (like our new infinite boss!)
-
Robitz's basic attack deals more damage
-
Catbot's basic attack will now deal less damage for each enemy hit.
This still keeps Catbot useful against large hordes of enemies but allows you to use Robitz for more strategies late game!
We've also made a couple of more changes for the general health of the game!
-
Made certain perks that had negative effects slightly cheaper
-
Lowered immunity time gained by immunity perks less
-
Increased the insta kill floppy slightly more expensive as certain combos were making it just a better version of the kill all floppy
-
Shortened tutorial
-
Made enemy health increase slightly less
-
Increased Robitz punch damage by 16%
-
Catbot basic attack disks now deal less damage for each enemy they hit
-
After the first enemy hit, each subsequent enemy hit with the same disk will be dealt less damage
-
The first will deal 100% damage, then decreases by 10% at a max of 50% reduction
-
It will go 100%, then 90%, 80%, 70%, 60%, 50%
-
