Hello Guild Masters,
The NG+ update is finally here with Patch 1.3! This patch introduces a host of changes and improvements. In addition to adding NG+, there are many other updates and bug fixes. Due to the number of changes and the fact that a save in Patch 1.3 cannot be safely loaded in a previous game version, Patch 1.3 will be released as a Beta Patch for now. I will continue testing this patch until Thursday, and if everything seems fine, I will set it live on the main branch. On Thursday, I will also announce my plans going forward.
NG+
How does NG+ work? After completing the final story quest, you can start NG+ with that save file. To start NG+, go to your saves in the main menu and select a save file that qualifies for NG+. Valid saves are marked accordingly.
Here, you can decide what to take with you. You can bring any adventurers and items. You can also apply modifiers to your NG+ run that can significantly change your new adventure. By default, everything is balanced by a point system, but in the spirit of "play how you want to play," you can toggle off the point limit.
Some things to be aware of:
- Every unique adventurer you take with you won't be recruitable in NG+
- Unique Traits will become available again even if you retain adventurers with those traits
- Yes, you can have 2 Ferdinands
Patch 1.3 Changes and Bugfixes
Here is a complete list of changes and bugfixes in Patch 1.3:
Bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug where the Rally skill would keep going back to the first available slot in the Action Menu
Gameplay changes: - Added missing Lizardman Tag to "Lizardman Priest"
- Fixed a bug where a unreachable tile existed in the wall battle during the Siege quest
- Elemental bombs can now rotate
- Swordmaster Passive will now also work on Block buffs during battle
- More Textfixes
Gameplay changes:
- Added NG+:
- Reworked the skills for the Warlord title. "Act Now" costs 3 AP and will now end the title holder's turn and give the target an immediate additional turn on which they can act. The target will get strained for one turn, which will reduce their damage by 30% and prevents them from using Brave Actions. "Stay in Reserved" is now called "Retreat" and will have the same effect as "Act Now" but also get a 3 Movement Buff, +50 Dodge, +50 Block and a -3AP debuff. It also cost 3AP now. "Hurry" and "Stand your Ground" will no longer have a debuff. Reduced Range of all those skills to 3 but at the second stage of the title you will gain a passive that will increase the range of all "Commander"-Skills by 3. At the third stage you will still gain the Warlord Title that reduces AP-Cost of all Commander-Skills by 1.
- Earth Stance will now grant Damage Reflection instead of Death Resist
- All the skills for the Unstoppable Title has been made available 1 Stage earlier. At the third stage the unit will now als gain strider.
- The reflection status will no longer return a percentage of the damage received but will always reflect a static amount of damage which can be increased with items.
- Added skill "Fast Metabolism" for some bosses. This skill will halve all poison, bleeding and burning stacks everytime they trigger
- Decreased the additional poison chance of corpse rot from 950% to 900%.
- increased Poison Bomb AP-Cost by 1
- Added the skill "Fast Metabolism" to several bosses. The skill will immediately halve the stack amount of dot effects everytime they trigger
- at the later stages of the game you will also receive low-level quests if you have adventurers in that level range
- Basilisk Toxin adds an active skill which immediatelly triggers all poison stacks on a target. If the target dies, the remaining stacks and duration will transfer to an adjacent enemy.
Misc:
- Added several new legendary items
- Removed Unity splash screen
- Updated the Splash art for the Knight Class
- You can now adjust the standard speed of enemies on the quest map and the amount of events that can spawn in a generic quest in the ini-file. To see the new lines you can either delete the ini-file and let the game generate a new one or add the following lines into the ini-file(ATTENTION: Depending on your country setting you need to use a comma instead of a point as decimal seperator):
QuestmapEnemyStandardMapSpeed=0.7
SmallQuestMapEventMinAmount=1
SmallQuestMapEventMaxExclAmount=2
MediumQuestMapEventMinAmount=1
MediumQuestMapEventMaxExclAmount=3
BigQuestMapEventMinAmount=2
BigQuestMapEventMaxExclAmount=3
QOL changes:
- Added a tooltip delay setting
- Added a seperate volume slider for the dialogue sound effect volume
- Assignments that cannot be repeated are now marked as such
- Added instant dialogue speed option
- In the tavern when you buy drinks, you can also sort the adventurers now
- The amount of rows displayed for skills in battle are now character-specific instead of global
I will create a beta-branch for Patch 1.3 and you can opt into it if you want to. If you find any bugs or some NG+ implication I have overlooked, I'd be grateful if you report them.
With best regards
GreenGuy
