Build 0.389 for Monastery is now available! This update introduces medium armor variants, various visual upgrades, bug fixes, and improvements. Check out the details in the release notes below.

New Gameplay Mechanics

Brew

Gain a random Potion card, or upgrade an existing one if you have any.

  • If you don't have a Potion in your hand, you receive a random Potion I.

  • If you have Potion I in your hand, it upgrades to Potion II (same type).

  • If you have Potion II in your hand, it upgrades to Potion III (same type).

  • If you have Potion III in your hand, you receive a different type of Potion I.

  • You will receive a Potion you don't already have if possible. If you have all types, you get a random one.

  • Potions are retained in your hand between turns.

  • If your hand is full, you lose the chance to get a Potion.

  • Potions are single use and not part of the deck.

Step

Move through the first enemy on the chosen side. That enemy shifts to the first position on the other side.

Stealth

Your melee single target attacks can target any unit and ignore Taunt. You can't have Armor while in Stealth. Stacking Stealth will grant your next single target attack +2 damage.

Poison

Poison deals 1 damage per stack at the start of turn. There is a 50% chance of Poison stacks doubling at the start of every turn.

Visual and Gameplay Improvements

Ghoul and Wolf Elite Color Variations

Elite Ghouls and Wolves now have distinct color variations, making them visually distinguishable based on their abilities.

Raider Bonus Shard

When fighting Raiders, you receive a bloodshard reward based on the battle they appeared in. This bloodshard reward is granted immediately, regardless of how far you progress or if the run is successful.

Difficulty-Based Extra Shard

At the end of a run, you receive an extra shard based on the difficulty level.

Trinket Rework
  • Trinkets now have item requirements. You can only equip them if you also have the required item.
  • Trinket tags have been updated and trinkets now have different mastery requirements
  • IMPORTANT: If you previously purchased a trinket that has a different mastery requirement now, it will appear as locked in your inventory. You will be able to use that trinket when you reach the said mastery requirement.
Redesigned Crossroads Visuals

Redesigned crossroads have been added to all areas. Additionally, the routes of the crossroads will change slightly during the run to add visual variety.

General Improvements and fixes

  • Updated protection action icon above enemies.
  • Titan ability now has an icon indicating it gains thorns.
  • Stealth stance now has a stacking icon, showing the bonus damage under the player.
  • Extra action effect icon above enemies grays out if the player is immune to that effect.
  • Enemy action icon grays out if it would apply an effect the player is immune to.
  • Card drag can now be interrupted with the ESC key.
  • Scry popup changes if you can no longer scry in that turn.
  • HP values for Brigand and Rogue enemies have been adjusted.
  • Shield throw now selects a new target if the first one is not damaged.
  • Guard stance now allows power application.
  • Burden boon now affects Leak, increasing its value.
  • Game speed display updated to 1x, 2x, and 3x.
  • Berserker stance bug fixed where crit chance increase was not removed properly.
  • Automaton action now updates correctly when an enemy switches sides.
  • Hydra Prototype Zero now has the Swift ability, indicating its attack cannot be blocked.
  • Inventory category expansion added, and the selected item's category will be expanded upon entry.
  • Enemy action icon above the head is now hoverable.
  • Fixed Adaptation reward on Crossroads giving random item upgrade instead
  • Chapel event options 1 and 2 now give stamina and focus upgrades that last until the end of the run
  • Barricade enemy now has the Stable ability.

Known Issues

  • The game may freeze during the enemy's turn and not switch back to the player's turn, only resolved by ending the hunt.
  • The game may freeze upon winning the last round with the shield throw card, which first takes out a non-boss and then the boss.
  • Cards may get stuck during excessive brewing.
