The Shopkeeper has been the subject of a lot of feedback. It's not fun to find her in the game at all currently, outside of the maybe rare chance of finding a unique. This patch introduces a simple change to turn her into the Gambler.
In town, the Gambler has the same fixed inventory she had when she was the Shopkeeper. There's a handful of items whose levels are based on the monster level of the area you last died in. Now however, the modifiers of those items don't exist yet! Purchase them and you'll roll a random item of that base. You can keep re-purchasing the same base while in town.
The Gambler is much more interesting if you encounter her in the wild, though. She has a larger pool of items, but they can only be purchased once each. These items have a default 50% increased Item Quality, which causes them to roll higher tiers and more modifiers more frequently.
Additionally, you can now specialize into Gambler bonuses in the Research tree. You can boost the Item Quality and Item Level of gambled items.
Good luck, and hope you find something fun!
Fixes:
- Fixed a bug where 5 and 6 mod items could not spawn naturally. They now can, assuming the monster level is high enough
- Fixed a bug where the Warden was doing no damage with most of his attacks
- Reduced Inferno and Nightmare boss Life
