Got lots of complaints about the combat system being unclear, this was due to a mix of missing onhit effects/unclear animations and bugs with monsters. It should feel better now (let me know what you think!).
People dont like punching trees for 5 minutes, the game needed to get to the point, the resources cost for basic buildings are being drasticaly reduced. (core, crafting table)
Combat system:
- Fixed punch animation direction
- Added on hit effect for punches, sword hits and arrows.
Blocking system:
- Npcs that are blocking now display how much damage they can hold.
- Breaking the shield of an npc now triggers its next combat cycle.
- The npc will now restore its shield when it's not blocking.
Balance:
- Reduced the amount of wood required for making the first core to 1.
- The crafting table now only costs 2 wood but has 50hp
New:
- Added a new boss: Giant crab. It can only take damage from turrets. Will be placed in the map in future patches.
Other:
- Your character will no longer sit automatically after 5 seconds.
- Your character will automatically unsteath his weapon after 3 seconds out of combat even while running.
- The target action text should be easier to read.
- The quest "trials" no longer requires you to kill a huge mushroom. The huge mushroom is a dungeon boss instead.
- Quests will now check for existing buildings when the player logs in. This should make the game more robust to changes in quest objectives.
Bugs:
- Fixed a bug with the bat's nature blow range being cast while it would be out of range.
- Boars will no longer hit you while they would not be charging.
- Fixed a bug with onhit sounds not being played sometimes.
- Fixed a bug with npcs normals not being properly aligned with the ground.
- Added a missing monster in the world codex: huge mushroom.
Changed files in this update
