Long Steel update for 9 March 2024

Hey everyone!

At the time of writing this, I've just pushed a new build to the public with mostly bug fixes, but some new additions as well. Bug fix wise, issues involving the Lair of 100 Trials as well as the entrance bridge to the Sky Temple should now be functioning as intended. As far as new additions...

Demo

A Demo version of Long Steel has launched! This will take you up to and including the first boss of the first dungeon!

Item Wheel

For new players, how to use the Item Wheel will be introduced through a new Voidling in the tutorial that instructs you on the controls. For existing players, I'll go through the new addition here. To assign items to the Item Wheel, simply select an assignable item from the inventory or crafting inventory for consumables, and keep the Item Key held down for a second or two and the Wheel will pop up. From there, press the Item Key in any of the sections of the Wheel to assign the Item to that section. The Wheel can be closed using the Pause Key. To pull it up in game, instead hold down the Action Key and the Wheel will pop up where you can assign the item to your Item Keys.

Dashing

The Dash Boots in the Lair of 100 Trials (which no one would have gotten anyway due to the fixed bug so this is sort of redundant) has been changed. Dashing now occurs simply by running for a few seconds. You can run however you want and pressing the Sword Key while dashing will cause you to thrust forward with your sword super fast!

Lastly, I have a little lore document that I was working on called the Xoro'Dun. This is a compendium of information regarding the universe and history of the world in Long Steel. If you're interested in lore check it out. it's by no means required reading but I hope you enjoy!
