Minor feature update this weekend!

Today's update focuses on improving the core game loop, as well as some polish on various cosmetic elements including the in game HUD and main menus.

Added Features:

  • "Deep Breath": This ability allows you to dispel a phantom jumpscare (not a hunt) that's ready to attack you, provided you have one queued up. Additionally, if you have an elevated heart rate already, this will begin lowering your heart rate immediately. The new yellow gauge on your in game HUD will tell you when it is ready to use. Takes 90 seconds to charge. Tutorial has been updated with this feature.

Changes:

Changes have been made to the in game HUD to hopefully be a bit more aesthetically pleasing, as well as a bit more intuitive to what is going on.

  • The tablet icon is bigger but tucked into the bottom and will now vibrate when notifications are going off on cameras and motion sensors.

  • Backpack and Item pickup are moved to right corner.

  • Burn material counter is moved to left corner.

  • Sprint bar and Deep Breath bar are radials around the center.

  • Heart beat indicator has been moved from the cursor to the inventory display.

  • Cursor is smaller and less intrusive.

  • Backpack radial menu has had the mouse buttons reversed for Drop/Swap. Left click is now Swap while Right click is now Drop.

  • Main menus have been aesthetically improved.

Gameplay Loop:

The core game loop has added a second phase to the mission. Now, after finding the item you believe is the correct item, you must bring it with you around the map to each new "Nexus Point". There will usually be three of these Nexus Points, however there can sometimes be less if playing on the smaller maps. These points do not spawn immediately, they only show up after you've held onto your chosen item for about 15 seconds to prevent you from finding them ahead of time. The chosen item has to be an item that angers the ghost, so picking up any random item will not work (unless you get lucky and pick one up of course). The personal/cursed item is not the only item that angers the ghost so there is still a chance you can choose wrong.

The church Altar has also now been blocked off at the beginning of the match. The church will only be accessible after you've visited all the Nexus Points that spawned on the map.
