Hello everyone!
After watching the livestream the other day of one of the streamers who kindly played my game, I was able to observe and notice many things that I hadn't seen before. As a solo developer, I haven't had the chance to extensively test my game beyond players at PlayExpo Glasgow and a few friends. Since then, I've kept adding and modifying things.
Last night, I had the opportunity to observe a player who perhaps wasn't very familiar with my game, and it was a great learning experience. I needed to watch this so I could understand how other players might experience my game.
This patch addresses some issues that I identified during the stream:
- Improved UI to prevent the inventory from being dragged and moved left or right, fixing the bug I encountered last night when an item got stuck on the screen.
- Sliced properties enabled on all UI tabs to make it cleaner and more visually appealing.
- Improved dialogue UI boxes and art.
- Added Grieving Blades and several other items to the shops, which I seemed to have missed previously.
- The goblin merchant in the Dungeon level now buys almost everything from you to prevent players from having a full inventory in future levels.
- If you kill the ghosties that are unhappy with one another, the quest markers disappear.
- Increased the inventory size to 18 for better symmetry and visual appeal.
- Enhanced health drops in the first level to give newcomers an extra chance.
- Increased the levels of some mini-bosses in later levels to make them more resilient as players progress.
- Made small aesthetic changes to the boss level; final merchants can now buy most items to clear players' inventories for the next levels.
- Fixed a bug in the meadows where players could backtrack and spawn at the end of the final level (currently mines).
- Adjusted cave skeleton enemies to make the fight more challenging for players around level 12 or so.

I will continue to release updates and patches to my game as often as I can. Just a heads up that next month may be a little challenging because I am approaching the final few weeks of submission for my dissertation and final assessments at University (I am in my final years of Uni studying Games Development in Scotland). After that, all I will do is work on my game and studio! So updates/patches next month may be smaller, but after that, they will start increasing in size as I focus solely on my studio and game.
Thank you for playing my game, wishlisting it, reading my posts—anything really! I appreciate the support.
