What’s new:
This patch introduces the first melee weapon of the game - the Sword, which also comes with a set of upgrades. In my opinion, these upgrades are some of the most varied and fun so far (Some of the upgrades are: ability to throw the Sword, option to consume health to enter a frenzy that increases attack- and move-speed, a passive that increases damage when you kill enemies and more)
However, to unlock the Sword you will first have to complete a quest for the new dweller of the castle - the Cursed Swordsman.
In addition to the Sword upgrades, a couple more general upgrades have been added, mostly to do with gold and enemy drop rate, as gold used to be quite difficult to come by.
A new early game enemy! Actually, it’s the same footman, but with no shield.
There is now a bell tower in the arena. You can ring the bell by shooting it, which will summon a new wave of enemies (or just sound cool if a wave is already in progress).
Also, a bunch of enemy sound effects have been added, as well as some music.
Changes:
Besides the new content, there are a few balance changes. The most crucial are:
-Most enemies don’t deal contact damage anymore. Contact damage felt pretty bad, especially with the melee Sword.
-Initial player move speed has been raised.
-Enemy spawns and health have been rebalanced to be slightly more forgiving.
Fixes:
Some bug fixes of course. Resolution dropdown in the settings was a little messed up before, now it’s fine. A bunch of typos corrected. Probably a lot more.
