First off: the game will be 20% OFF during Steam SHMUP Fest! Roto Force admittedly only very loosely fits the definition of a SHMUP, but until Steam creates the "Rotating Arena Bullet Hell Run 'n' Gun" Fest, this will do just fine.
This update is meant to smooth out the difficulty curve for first time players, as well as giving veterans something to chew on. Some of the bosses proved to be a bit of a too steep step up in difficulty than they were intended to. So they have been made just a bit less ferocious to bring them more in line with the difficulty curve of the rest of the game.
Don't worry that this will make it too easy, as a Boss Rush mode has been added for anyone that has beaten the game already. Which tasks you to beat a series of bosses or minibosses one after another, without checkpoints, only getting 1 hp back between bossfights. As well as an unlockable even harder version of bosses for Boss Rush.
Lastly the Spread Shot has been reworked to be a bit quicker. Because the increased cooldown after a charged shot, made charging up feel too often like punishment instead of a reward. This rework makes it have less down time while still retaining short-range burst potential.
Reminder that the game will be 20% OFF during Steam SHMUP Fest, so this is a good opportunity to grab the game!

Beat Boss Rush on hard mode to unlock an unreasonably hard version of Boss Rush
Add new Free Aim modifier, unlock by beating a stage with 90% accuracy

Most late-game bosses have been made easier on regular difficulty to pose less of a spike in difficulty
Rework Spread Shot
- regular shot has less range and more spread
- charged shot has more range and less spread
- reduce damage of a charged shot but increase fire rate after a charged shot
