Update notes via Steam Community
VMVA is soon opening the doors for a new exhibition. On the 11th October 2024 the new exhibition will be added as a free update to the game.
I first saw Esteban Pérez's work at his masters graduation show 2024 from the University of Fine Arts Hamburg "Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg" and over the summer we have been working on installing his artworks in a new context; the VMVA.

In his work, Esteban Pérez explores the relationship between humans and their self-created environment, repeatedly directing attention to supposed inadequacies. Unclear functions, decorative elements and improvised solutions: Contrary to a possible intuitive approach of measuring the traces of humanity in its successes, Pérez's gaze leads to the provisional, the sometimes absurd and even the simply dysfunctional. What may initially seem like associative observations of scenes in public space reveals itself as cautious reflections on inconsistencies in architecture. Central motifs in Pérez's observations are architecture, nature and human artifacts, which he then puts together in groups, with the starting point and focus of the work always being architecture as a testimony to human action.
The models made for "some fixed obstacles" were originally not intended to be shown in a video game context, but rather as 2D looping animations, so they were somehow rebuilt for the game, but maintaining their qualities as seamless loops.

I am excited to open the second exhibition of VMVA, and proud to have Esteban Perez as an artist in the museum.

Kind regards Isak Bendixen

This also mean that it is last chance to access the current exhibition Escape for help for free. It will be added as a dlc and you will still be able to access older exhibitions
