Lots of performance improvements in this update! This ought to help with larger towns. There are some game balance changes as well. Most notably Animal item drops have been turned up.
The new game menu has been reconfigured as well. Now, when you hover your cursor over the map, you can see information about what you are looking at.

Lots of work is still needed to get the performance to where it needs to be for the full release, but this update is a big step towards that goal

Game Balance:
Increased the droprate of Animal Pelts
Increased the drop rate of Milk
Increased the drop rate of Eggs
Increased the drop rate of Wool
Increased the number of Rabbits that can be in an Animal Pen

Performance:
Made some improvements to Collectable objects placement
Made some optimizations to Object pools to improve memory performance
Reduced the poly counts for crops
Reduced the poly counts for citizens
Made improvements to the Pathfinding Algorithm
Made improvements to Pathfinder movement
Adjusted the UI blur shader to increase performance
Texture sizes have been decreased
Lots of miscellaneous improvements

Bug Fixes:
Made some changes to Trading Posts and Train Stations to improve their ability to craft vehicles
Fixed the FPS Counter so that it shows the correct value
Fixed a bug where the window header tooltip remains after the window has been closed

Misc.
Adjusted the lighting settings so that the game is brighter
Lots of changes to the lighting to increase performance and make the game look nicer
The game will now will work with low resolution displays
Made the maple trees bigger
Updated the descriptions for resource nodes
Updated the terrain level descriptions
When a new Technology has been selected, if the Town Center has the items required to research
it it will be researched automatically
Moved the confine cursor option from Display Options to Game Options

UI:
The new game has been reconfigured to be more intuitive and informative
