A couple of days on from launch, and noting as part of feedback received, here is the first update for Bleak Winter. As promised in our original community note, this update is largely surrounding balancing and ensuring that we get balancing right.
AI/Enemies:
- Increased day and night dynamic maximum AI spawn numbers by 150%.
- Modified AI behaviors to lower stuttering when switching between states.
Items:
- Bow & Arrow: Increased accuracy, projectile now originates at player camera.
- Grenade: Increased accuracy, projectile now originates at player camera.
- Players now start with an Axe, Pickaxe, 25 wood and 25 stone.
- Higher grade loot chances have been reduced to accommodate for higher number of loot areas.
World:
- Number of loot areas increased by 100%.
- Items now spawn on top of empty barrels, so players can associate where common loot spots.
- Removed texturing inaccuracies.
- Removed some overlapping foliage.
- Corrected alignment of geometry within enemy camps.
- Removed "Invisible Walls".
- Added "Out of Bounds" damage triggers, which will encourage players to return to the "Play Zone".
- Modified Player Spawn points to be nearer to Points of Interest.
