Hello everyone!
After four years of development, we are proud (yes, proud is the right word) to announce that the final version of IMPAVIDVM will be available to everyone from May 9, 2023.
We apologize for taking so long, but we are a small team of two people who have tried to make the game to the best of our abilities.
The final version includes 11 playable levels (plus one), 4 cutscenes, and two endings. The levels were supposed to be 14, but we decided to reduce them to 12 because, as we are, making two extra levels would have required at least another year!
IMPAVIDVM is an old-style platform game inspired by great classics of the past, such as the famous Prince of Persia. We have spent an incredible amount of time getting the gameplay we set out to achieve, and we believe we have succeeded.
The idea is to offer you an old-style platform game but with modern elements. Therefore:
- IMPVIDVUM has a complete and engaging storyline that you will discover gradually and will be fully revealed only at the end!
- A dedicated game mode will help speedrunners who decide to destroy the game and shatter all records.
- The movements of the characters try to respect the canons of a real person. If you press the jump button and find yourself falling into a chasm, pay attention to how the character's feet were positioned when you pressed the button (if you were running in real life and suddenly asked to jump, you could do it right away or you might need a foothold to give you momentum?)
- The numerous checkpoints will prevent you from having to repeat the most difficult parts over and over again!
That being said, do not expect any kind of help.
You will not receive any pop-ups telling you which button to press and when.
There will be no quick time events.
No off-screen voice will tell you how to solve a puzzle after the third attempt.
The game interface is not minimalist. There is no interface!
IMPAVIDVM respects your intelligence too much to help you.
All we want is for you to have fun.
If you feel that pleasant thrill of satisfaction every time you overcome a difficult part or solve a puzzle; if you find yourself wondering who has imprisoned you in this fortress and why, then we will know that our work has served its purpose, which has always been to entertain you and make you have fun.
