In this first part of the UI update, there have been some changes to the UI and lore for the game.
The major changes include
- German translation
- French translation
- Norwegian translation
- A book that stores notes, the to-do list and reputation
- Visual update for the interface
- New main menu and loading screen
- New interaction UI
- Updated notes lore
If there is anything that you notice could be translated better, or differently, then don’t hesitate to let me know via the forums.
Important side note:
If you are playing on a save file from when the game launched, or from the latest update, I would recommend that you create a new save file to prevent a sudden corruption of the file that has been a result of some of the old code being stuck in the save files. You can still play on your old saves, but you might experience a sudden data-loss.

- Added a German translation.
- Added a French translation.

- Added a notebook that can be held up by pressing “T”.
- Added several new objectives.
- Added fade animation to to-do and journal pop ups.
- Added proper details to the discoverable notes.
- Added a new interaction UI for items.
- Added a new section in the settings menu called “gameplay”.
- Added an option to hide the quick slots under settings -> gameplay. This is toggled “Off” by default.
- Added a hover highlight for crafting slots.
- Added a visual of the current game version in the main menu.
- Added a crafting sound for when successfully crafting an item.
- Added a FOV settings option.
- Added a slight scrolling delay to ensure the correct item in the toolbelt is chosen and highlighted.
- Added player stats to the notebook to display how animals have been treated.
General Changes
- Increased the size of the rabbit traps slightly.
- Changed the text on several story notes.
- Changed the sound effects for to-do and journal notifications.
- Changed the name ice pickaxe > forgotten pickaxe.
- Moved the tunnel note location to the front of the cave.
- Adjusted the empty can icon.
- Changed some descriptions on some items.
- Made some improvements to the loading screen and time, to avoid sudden crashes.
- Temporarily removed the “M” keybind for map until some issues have been resolved.
- Removed the text from the journal regarding the character’s experience roaming the island to allow players freedom for their imagination.
- Removed the map note.
- Removed the note about the sawhorse.
UI Changes
- Changed the oxygen UI.
- Changed the player stats UI.
- Changed the Main Menu UI.
- Changed the loading screen UI.
- Changed the arrow selection UI.
- Lowered the opacity on the quickslot from 1.0 to 0.7
- Notes moved to the new notebook.
- Journal section moved to the new notebook and is now under “To-do list”.
- Added a new interaction UI.
- Interaction icon now shows up whenever the player is near an item, and not just when looking directly at it.
- Changed the UI that appears when interacting with tamed animals.
- Character Stats are now hidden when opening the inventory.
- Added a new settings tabbed called “Gameplay”.
- Moved Camera Shake from graphics to gameplay in the settings menu.
Fixes
- Fixed a bug where rabbits would not show in rabbit traps.
- Fixed a bug where some rabbit traps would be bigger than others.
- Fixed a bug where notes would not have an interaction outline.
- Fixed a bug where vines would not have an interaction outline.
- Fixed a bug where when picking up already found notes, another notification would come up about finding it for the first time.
- Fixed a bug where the game would flash white when loading up to the main menu.
- Fixed a bug where there would sometimes be a black screen in the background of the main menu.
- Fixed a bug where “Audio” button in the settings menu would not show as selected when opening the menu.
- Fixed a bug where toggling camera shake would not save.
- Fixed a bug where the settings menu would display camera shake as enabled when it was disabled.
- Fixed a bug where some trees in an area of the map could not be cut. As a result, some trees in that area will disappear in player saves.
- Fixed a visual bug where some trees would not have a trunk when far enough away.
- Fixed a bug where starting objectives pop-up message would show despite having completed the objective.
- Fixed a bug where animals would not always flee when seeing the player.
- Fixed a bug where consuming water in a can would not give the player an empty can.
