We're pleased to announce that the IFAC Player has a General Availability Release.
The latest Player has all the improvements and additions to the IFAC Language including the new PAUSE command (see later) and carries the same v1.2 designation as the editor.
Twelve selectable backgrounds allow you to match the theme of your game or just whatever you are in the mood for as you play, and has a nice, shiny, new green icon to distinguish it from the editor if you re running both at the same time.
The IFAC Editor is updated to v1.2 with the addition of a new IFAC Language command - PAUSE. This command will allow you to pause output to the screen for one to ten seconds (e.g. PAUSE 5). Use it to give a player a chance to read a long message or to create some suspense between a sequence of messages.
Internally the system is now running in several different threads. This enabled the PAUSE command to be implemented in a simpler way but also opens the path to developing asynchronous events and behaviors going forward. It may not sound glamorous but it has lots of potential!
If you have exported a game to test already I would recommend exporting it again with the newer version to get the most up to date features.
Don't forget to check out the Community Website for tips on how to achieve certain game mechanics or ask a question of your own.
Thanks again to everyone for their support and Happy Adventuring!
