Thanks to all the feedback from Manhattan's testers and community. Following your help and extensive in-house testing (using four computers and five different OSes), v2.0 Beta 4 brings significant improvements for Mac and Windows, including VST support on Mac, M1 optimisation, a new host sync algorithm, and several GUI tweaks.

Failing the appearance of any significant gremlins, I hope to promote this version to the main Early Access Steam release. The development focus will then switch to adding additional features, including Unity integration, multiple patterns, and custom instruments/samples.

Thank you for your support - be sure to stay tuned, and like/subscribe to the YouTube channel!

General:
  • Better mouse support for GUI widgets (mouse capture for sliders, etc.)
  • Refreshed help documentation (Tutorials 1-5, Live Control, Workshops...).
  • New intelligent host sync algorithm that fills the gaps in data supplied by the DAW.
  • New help welcome/start-up screen (to be further expanded).
  • Preliminary Unity/API integration (not yet documented - to be further expanded).
  • Numerous miscellaneous GUI tweaks and minor bug fixes.

Mac:
  • NEW! VST plugin support for Mac, including support for Cubase and Nuendo.
  • Mac standalone app now also uses the VST backend by default - avoids perennial AudioUnit installation issues, add/improves compatibility with Mojave and Catalina.
  • Helpers for VST/AU plugin installation (see File menu in the App).
  • M1 audio performance optimisation.
  • Extensive graphics testing and optimisation for Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, and Monterey, across Intel (MBP 2013/16) and M1/Rosetta (MBP 2022) to tackle "behind the scenes" macOS changes that cripple non-M1 graphics performance.

Performance on Retina displays is now very good on M1, plus Intel until Monterey - in the latter case, this update improves performance somewhat, but you might consider disabling retina (Get Info > Run at Low Resolution) - please feedback your experiences!

Windows:
  • Redesigned Windows help subsystem, based on Chrome-based API, instead of IE/ActiveX.
  • Significantly improved (seamless) integration for Live Control, workshops (crowd-driven music), etc.
  • Fixed character/font rendering issues on non-Western localisations (untested - please let me know).
