This is the release of Phase 2 of 3 for the server code rewrite. Around 85% of the server code has been replaced or rewritten at this point. Most of the benefits of this will not be realized in this release but you will see some changes, many of which are described here. The purpose of this rewrite is to allow us to move forward with the 6-month plan posted previously which introduces new game systems, major enhancements of features and content, fixing many long-standing bugs that were unfixable with the previous server as well as moving faster with our game changes.

Design Changes:
  • Treasure Table Drop System Overhaul
  • Treasures will now drop from their level category based off of monster level.
  • Example: Flaming Sword will drop from a Level 60-79 mob
  • Adjusting all Armor: Protection Value, Level Req, Res values, Weight/Mass, Gold Cost
  • Adjusting all Weapon: Min/Max Damage, Level Req, Weight/Mass, Gold Cost
  • Weight/Mass Rebalance for Misc Items, Resources

Code Changes
  • Armor Tooltip: Legs will now show the proper class of Legs
  • Deathport will now work if you die from poison or disease
  • Race change details now show details
  • Valencia / Mainland moves removed from the store
  • VIP details now show additional information
  • ID skill is shown in the list now
  • Stacks of items on a tile/ground should be more stable (not swap frame to frame)
  • Hunger, disease, and poison will show on npcs now
  • Tooltips for transient effects (blessed, poisoned, and diseased) appear on Qual: line now
  • Skill window remembers what was open or closed properly now
  • the minimap will save load properly into normal even if saved in the expanded state
  • added user-defined customizable map tags (color, name, icon) - just click on the minimap
  • map configuration menu supports filtering tags and saves/loads filter state
  • Weight /& mass limits won't prevent you from dragging zero-weight/mass items into containers
  • removed spam of messages on more than 1 level change at a time
  • SHIFT while typing in chat won't flash the title mode on the PlayArea title anymore
  • shop keeper sliders are easy to use now
  • corpse markers will disappear after 30 minutes
  • You will no longer see your ghost self when sleeping or just after dyeing
  • Dragging an item that is destroyed (like sawing the last log) will no longer leave a ghost on the screen
  • Looting/Ownership messaging & rules are better and more consistent including guild member recovery of items
  • Mark of ownership can no longer be abused
  • Name plaques shadow cycles slightly to allow color contrast to the background
  • Power hour details are correct now.
  • No macro check for VIP and shows time in minutes
  • Rejuv scrolls work properly with alignment change calc and wearing off
  • Health is properly preserved through a relog
  • Health visually correct after respawn now (even after hunger death)
  • VIP/Megabackpack will now work without a relog (immediately after purchase)
  • Megabackpack will now work on purchase (no need to USE it)
  • Store buttons honor states of usable, max quantity and store refreshes on purchases properly now
  • GM Level Support (Guide, GM, Lead, etc…)
  • Windows edge re-sizing not working if the window was larger than the screen already
  • The game window not remembering its position sometimes (more to do)
  • PlayerStats avatar no longer looks like a lump of clay
  • Really Large HP/MaxHP now supported
  • Removed player name on horizontal health floater
  • Added toggle for EXP values in options to show the amount to the next level vs current
  • Skill Exp/Level and Player Exp/Level and bar inaccuracies should all be resolved
  • Shop sell/buy toggled with row click and no slider for non-collectibles
  • Other PlayerInspect avatars no longer look like a lump of clay
  • Guards will now move when hit!
  • Feedback when in Split or Self Use mode
  • Hotbars now show totals of an item
  • Shopkeeper now has room for long names, quantity available fits, and is centered
  • Corpses container now says corpse when opened
  • The containers' locations are saved as you move them. They open go to the container position in order now so you can organize containers. For example, Chest A goes to Container 1 position, and Bag B, goes to Container 2. If you opened Bag B first, it would go to container 1 position, etc...
  • /help commands added for players
  • /roll command added (for channels: whisper, normal, guild)
  • Chat message length increased to 250 characters (up from 90)
  • Chat message input stops at 250
  • Chat menu closes with ESC, NUMPAD ENTER
  • Chat menu cycles channel only when open
  • ESC closes transient popups: Map Marker, Guild Configure, Char Rename, Quantity/Split
  • TAB is now also the default chat cycle (only when chat is open)
  • Quantity box can be closed with SPACE or ENTER/NUMPAD ENTER
  • Spending Epool is now accurate, and easy and allows level dumping
  • Centered container titles and all containers have 64 slots
  • Size limits of content and container size still apply
  • Overstuffed containers have a scrollbar (and require removing items before use)
  • The total item limit (you can have combined in bank/inventory) is shown on the containers: Free: 64, VIP: 250, Mega BP: 500 (requires VIP to be active)
  • No longer crash when opening a merchant dialog if your inventory is full
  • Megabackpack depends on VIP properly in-game now
  • If VIP expires Slot Expansion and Megabackpack benefits stop immediately
  • Items that aren't usable (like Megabackpack) won't show the USE button enabled
  • Fixed select mode failing to allow you to ‘use’ anything again
  • Single click to use/equip etc was made easier
  • SHIFT + Use, Reuse, Hotbar uses the ‘item’ on yourself
  • Removed ALT, SHIFT, CTRL variations on hot bars
  • No longer a small weight penalty if stacks are not combined
  • Encounters ‘management/spawning’ is redone (NPCs spawn in a much more intuitive and lair-based model). Should result in monsters that you are hunting and faster respawns.
  • Characters, Inventory, and Skills are now viewable on the customer site
  • Guilds will have member ranks, icons, and colors (FREE RESPEC)
  • Guild names/tags restrict colors and certain characters now (RESPEC)
  • Guild level/exp supported for future game mechanics
  • PlayerStats, other player details show guild name (not tag)
  • Guild Icon is shown on player stats, and other player details, and next to tag
  • Can view/manipulate characters from the website (screenshots).
  • Could enable server moves now
  • Rewrite/cleanup of agriculture and cooking including QoL adjusts and bug fixes esp when baking in the oven
  • Rewrite/cleanup of food mechanics to properly inform players of how many points of health/stamina they gained from the food
  • Fixed Silvest and Mainlands Seeker quests; have the option to cancel now and retake a new quest
  • Minor grammar/syntax fixes, consistent colors, and messaging formats
  • New systems to come soon now from the roadmap: Quest Log, Monster Manual, Enhanced AI, Spells, Item Upgrade System, More Maps
  • Many many many miscellaneous bug fixes during the rewrite
