I’m happy to announce the immediate availability of new and expanded content in The Crimping! An entire new world has been added with five unique challenges that will test your skills. I’ve also added several fixes and improvements throughout the whole game. Notable among these are two new in-game menu options: turning off the humorously corny AI voices and turning on “easy mode” (improving jumping, preventing walking off ledges, and making you invincible to most kinds of damage).
The game has not only become much larger, but it has also become a fair bit stranger -- and less like a traditional horror game. As a game player, I don’t really play horror games and my experience is largely limited to “horror-adjacent” parts of games like Half-Life 2. A YouTube streamer asked me to make a horror game for him and, on a lark, I decided to give it a try. However, horror really isn’t my jam, although I do (like Cindy) love a good ghost story.
As a result, The Crimping is more of an adventure game than a horror game, and I’ve fully gone with my innate not-scary inclinations for the new expansion. You’ll find very action-oriented challenges ranging from platforming to shooting to exploration, all with the kind of light-hearted style of the rest of the game.
For me, games are about having fun, artistic expression, and sharing an experience with others. I hope you’ll have as much fun playing The Crimping as I had making it, and that this expansion brings you happiness!
