I’m happy to announce that a building update is finally here. In this update, you can expect to see new buildable options that should help expand and make your houses more like a second home. You can also expect some fixes to some of the old buildable options.

A taste of what to expect is a buildable cart that can help you transport more resources at once:

Important note:

To combat a bug, the list of items below have been changed. If you can’t use it in recipes or building, you will have to drop it and pick it up again to solve the issue.

Below is the full list of the new additions/changes/bugfixes:

New

  • Added a transportation cart for resources
  • Added a new explorable treehouse
  • Added buildable window options
  • Added more category-buttons to the building menu
  • Added a log rack for stacking and storing resources
  • Added a flipped version of the split wood triangle wall
  • Added buildable bed frames
  • Added new buildable pillar options
  • All building icons have been remade
  • Added a new item called “Cart Wheel”
  • Added smooth camera movement when crouching.


Changed

  • Loot chests now respawn and replace non-looted loot after a while.
  • To destroy built structures, players now need to hold Q and wait until the structure has been destroyed.
  • Changed the position of the support pillar for log floors.
  • Category no longer switches back to the first category, when closing and reopening the building menu.
  • Increased the drawing speed on the bow 9x > 15x
  • Changed the walk and sprint animation while holding bows.
  • Effort sounds now only play when the player’s stamina is low.
  • Adjusted the way that built torches light up the environment.
  • Changed the size and position of the log pillar.
  • Reduced the cost of creating a leaf blanket 40 leaf > 10 leaf.
  • Changed the name of the Crafted Arrow > Feathered Arrow.
  • Removed “Leaf Blanket” from the crafting menu.
  • Removed “Blanket” from the crafting menu.
  • Leaf blanket will now be found in the building menu.
  • Blanket will now be found in the building menu.
  • Removed blueprints from the building menu. The old blueprints can now be created without finding them first.
  • Changed the model for the leaf blanket.
  • Changed the requirement for building rock storage chest, leaf blanket > 1 leaf.
  • Changed the model for the books laying spread around.
  • Changed the bed model for the beds in the treehouses.
  • Discoverable tools now respawn.
  • Resources are now held right away when picking them up from the sawhorses, if there is room.
  • Picking up a resource from the sawhorse now makes you immediately equip it if there is an available quickslot.


Fixes

  • Fixed building models that had noticeable gaps between the logs.
  • Fixed a bug where the mouse would not disappear when exiting the destruction UI.
  • Fixed a bug where players would not get back the resources spent on structures when removing them.
  • Fixed a bug where bark could not be used as fuel for campfires.
  • Fixed a bug where the arrow names were not the same in inventory as in the crafting menu.
  • Fixed a bug where Log Pillars would show “0 x wood log” as building requirement instead of “1 x wood log”
  • Fixed a bug where the building menu UI would sometimes disappear if clicking outside the buttons.
  • Fixed a bug where player collision would be enabled on buildable blueprints after attaching the first resource.
  • Fixed an overlapping issue with buildables that use split wood.
  • Fixed a bug where the hotbar would lock itself if opening the inventory when using an attack.
  • Fixed a flickering issue with the item highlight.
  • Fixed a bug where players could drink water from far up on land.
  • Fixed a bug where the armor the player wore before death would float by the backpack.
  • Fixed a bug where particle effects were bright during the night.
  • Fixed a bug where the waterfalls would glow during the night.
  • Fixed a bug where the player had to drop a plank and pick it up again before it could be used to build with.
