Patchnotes via Steam Community

Today we're releasing the Ultimechs Spectator for free on Steam! With this program, you'll be able to watch live Ultimechs matches on your PC.

With the Ultimechs Spectator you'll be able to join custom matches via parties to watch in-game. Up until now the client has been in closed testing for tournament organizers, but now we're making it readily available for any and all Ultimechs fans to use!

If you've watched previous Ultimechs tournaments such as the Ultimechs VRML Pre-Season, then you have seen a previous iteration of the client which has now been significantly improved with this release.

Changelog from Early Closed Test to Release:

  • Added player names to in-game UI
  • Updated in-game scoreboard UI
  • Added GauntJets to in-game UI
  • Improved the 1st person camera
  • Prevented the camera from moving outside the arena
  • Added options menu

We'd like to note that in this version of the Spectator Ultimechs, English is the only fully supported language. Players may change the language in settings, but it will only change language for some of the text in the program.

Known Issue

  • When you start the spectator the first time you will get 2 prompts to create a username. It's the 2nd one which will be your username, so please be mindful of this. This account will not be connected to your player account.

While anyone can use it the main purpose of the Ultimechs Spectator is for content creators and tournament organizers to be able to view matches in a much easier way. You will also be able to see this being used in the upcoming Season 1 of the VR Master League.

Sign-ups for Ultimechs VRML Season 1 are still open, so don't forget to register if you'd like to participate.
