PATCH NOTES
[v1.03]
This is a smallish to moderate patch that fixes a number of the most requested bugs, and adds some new options to the settings.ini specifically for speedrunners. I fixed the door skip, it wasn't as rare as I thought, and people were discovering it accidentally too often, so I had to fix it. But I also added an in-game timer and an option to skip text scrolling in the settings.ini file. Additionally, more bug fixes. Full patch notes below.
NOTE: Hoping to have steam achievements ready for the next patch by the end of next week.
- Fix crash from buying a gold key from the shop in snowpeak area
- Fix miles infinitely spawning reward after sand worm boss (this was a typo... '-_-)
- Fix door skips (collision skip, and the bullet skip)
- Add fast text and show timer options to settings.ini (more on this below)
- Fix dog not following you between rooms
- Final boss now has 50% more health (offset by the fact you can now bring a follower to ease the challenge a bit if you're having trouble)
- Stop NPCs from attacking bosses if they are talking to the player
- Fix playtime not stopping while on the title screen/main menu
- Fix ship sometimes not appearing in the landing site room after completing the game
- Warp points now reset after starting new game plus
- Other minor fixes
For Speedrunners
Since the new options are only for speedrunners and aren't intended to be used for casual playthroughs of the game, these new options are only available to change in the settings.ini, and not in the in-game options menu.
To access the settings.ini file, press the windows key + R to bring up the "Run" window. In the box that pops up, copy and paste "%localappdata%" without the quote marks and hit OK. This will open an explorer window with your local app data files. In this folder, there should be a folder called "REDSHOT", as long as you have started the game at least once. In here are your save files and the settings.ini.
Inside the settings.ini file, there will be section called "Speedrunning". In here are your two options: Fast text to skip the letter-by-letter scrolling during dialogue, reducing the required button mashing, and Show Timer, which will show the in-game timer in the top right hand corner of the screen during gameplay. Change the 0 before the decimal point to a 1 to turn the option on. Change it back to a 0 to turn the option off again. And don't forget to save the file!
I may add these to the in-game options menu at a later point, but for now, this should be fine.
