Hi, is there any way to download a snap-shot of the steamdb database for apps? I want to work on a project comparing user's game lists but I need information on each game. The Steam API has access for getting a list of user's apps/games, but I would need to scrape in order to get details on a particular game. Doing an HTTP request for each game title would be excessive and slow, having a local copy of games and their details would speed things up and I wouldn't have to hammer Steampowered/steamdb. Any way to do this? Thanks.
Yes, I would be interested in this as well. I'm also creating an application that need the app ID list
We don't currently plan to offer DB snapshots. You can grab your own database by doing a full run with our backend application available on GitHub. We don't really give support for the backend application but if you have actual issues you can report them here.
For a list of apps you can query the Steam API: http://api.steampowered.com/ISteamApps/GetAppList/v0001/
Thanks, that's just what I needed :D
