This thread is dedicated to discussing The Lab.
The Lab files added! Looks like it's a rather large 14.54GB.
Not visible in the store or community yet however.
Release date added then removed straight after. Community hub was also visible for a short time.
Looks like official release date is 5th April and filesize is still rather large.
The only Source 2 part of The Lab is the Robot Repair Demo, so that is the only bit really worth searching for any news on future Valve titles I would imagine.
I couldn't find much in there except for a very interesting file by the name of "input_file_debug.txt". This text file seems to hold the folder structure for all current VR projects being developed in Source 2 at Valve (as well as some developments on the Source 2 engine itself - dev tools) and there are some notable references in this massive file, to name a few:
I only spent a few minutes looking through the file but it's massive so there may be some good stuff in there. Here's a copy of it just in case it gets removed in an update: https://www.mediafire.com/?hzj1ho64741uj3b
Also as a side note, you can play the Robot Repair demo without VR, however when you get prompted to pull out a draw you won't be able to go any further unless you run it in the performance test mode and then it will just skip through everything. I created a vr.bat file in the same file as the vr.exe with this inside:
start vr -noassert -retail -autofidelity +map vr_aperture_main -novr -fullscreen -height 1440 -width 2560
Replace the -height and -width with your resolution then run the vr.bat to see the demo. Adding -vrperftest into the bat is what I believe makes it skip through everything so you can see the entire demo.
