There are several pseudo-apps in the database that, if one attempts to run or install them via steam:// URL, can cause Steam to crash. This is rather problematic, as it can be exploited by anyone and all it requires is that the victim unwittingly click on a malicious link. Here are some of the exploitable apps I found:
Valve should probably get on top of fixing those...
Also, on a slightly unrelated note, I spotted a similar security snafu with the URL steam://install/203850/, which infects your computer with a hideous virus.
You client shouldn't crash. Mine is fine.
Hmm, maybe it's a bug with the beta client then... Oh wait no actually I bet it's cuz I had my client in dev mode cuz I was playing with themes recently, that's probably it (not at my computer so can't test it right now)
