Hi! :) I've got a question I was hoping someone could help me with.
Background: I'm currently in the city of Amman in Jordan, and there's a chance I'll be here for a couple of years or so. For the last couple of months, I've been using my UK bank details/Paypal to buy games through Steam, but I now have a Jordanian bank account/debit card, so I'm tempted to use them.
My question: What would the game's region be for any games I purchase in Jordan using the Jordanian bank details? RoW? Or something else? I don't want to buy a game that's cut due to it being classed as Middle East (for example), when I can just as easily continue using my UK details and get uncut games.
(I am still a UK resident, I just might be placed in Jordan for some time due to work)
Thanks in advance for any help. :)
You can use your any payment methods everywhere. But, you need to be in Jordan/UK to switch to Jordanian/English payment method. Which mean, you can't switch it back unless you are in the region you wanted to switch back.
Region lock information doesn't matter because Valve pretty much gift restricted all the middle east and eastern countries, except Australia and NZ(hopefully also Japan and Korea.) You can always buy stuff as gift if you're not sure it's region locked or not.
Here, some information you might need:
Real region lock(+Steam gift restriction): http://i.imgur.com/eVLrWo2.png
Steam gift restriction: http://i.imgur.com/qryslfk.png
PS: game prices aren't cheap as Russian so gift restriction is kinda bullshit
TL;DR You should keep your UK payment method as long as you can. Don't bother to change it.
Heh, cheers for that. :D
