I'm trying to find the least hackish way of finding the path to a game using only its app ID in C/C++.
The title in question is Doom 3 (appid 9050).
The way I'm finding it now is looking up where Steam is installed, and appending SteamApps/common/Doom 3.
The problem with this method is that if Doom 3 was installed somewhere else, my program won't find it.
Any help is appreciated.
Path should be in .acf file, I think.
That's freaking awesome, thanks.
Am I guaranteed to find the file in $(STEAM_INSTALL_FOLDER)/SteamApps/ or can it be somewhere else?
I haven't heard of/seen any cases where they're not in the SteamApps folder.
