Since the new Steam profiles have come, we have something known as the achievement showcase which gives us the number of achievements done for all games combined. Is there a hidden API that can accomplish the same, or has anyone come across a method to do the same which does not involve going through every single game for that user.
I don't think there is an API for that. But can't you fetch global stats, and then compare to unlocked achievements?
But that would mean I would have to go through every single game that the user owns and that is what I want to avoid. For example they are doing it directly if you are Level 10 or above. You can directly see an achievement showcase which will show you how many achievements you have unlocked as a single number.
As an example
You could also fall back on data scraping instead of API for this purpose. Maybe not as sexy, but it's easy enough to grab.
