Based on some feedback I've changed how discounts are colored to make it more useful.
Previously, the logic used was this:
New logic takes into account the discount date:
discounted 15 hours ago
Is it possible to have something displaying when a product is on sale BUT after a recent price increase ?
Not on the sales page, but there's a separate page for tracking price changes.
Thanks for this update. Really appreciate.
I think u should give this site small ads (or just non disturbing ads) so we can click and donate u in easy way, (especially for people who dont have credit card) we know its not easy to stay updated but u have real life, u awesome bro!
We've made a decision early on to run the website without ads. We used to have a donation bar visible on all pages, but removed it.
Any plans to include a monthly donation goal like Yasp (Bottom of https://yasp.co/)?
Your donation page just says 'funded for months', wouldn't want to see your donations stop completely due to this.
We used to have monthly donation goals. If we will be in dire need of donations, we will bring it back. For now, everything is fine.
Bug Report: I can't donate to this awesome project. Donate button not found.
Thanks. Great job!
Thanks for this. If I understand correctly, as a result, blue coloured is "best deal ever", green would be "close, but no cigar" and no color is "meh", right?
Would you consider adding a checkbox at the top to filter by blue or green?
Does blue mean that this is the highest discount, ever? Or just that there's never been a discount higher at a amount?
An example of the first situation: Game A has never been discounted above 70% before, and now it is at 80%, so this is the highest it has ever been (higher than all previous discounts)
An example of the second situation: Game B has been discounted at 80% at least once before, and now its at 80% again. 80% is the highest its ever been, but this is not the first time its ever been at 80%.
Finding games that only match the first situation is more valuable (to me, at least), because an awesome "deep discount" is not as awesome if the game has had that same discount before.
It will be blue in first case, and green in the second case. All other cases will be uncolored.
That's awesome. Thank you.
Thanks for the great job.
I have a question. Would it make sense to also color price records for each game? For example when the discount causes price games to be the lowest ever recorded in the same color pattern as discounts (maybe red or any other different color).
I would still love a "NEW lowest price" filter / colour.
(I don't really care for games that regularly hit their lowest price)
That's precisely what the blue color is.
Do you throw away price history after a specific age btw?
"If the highest discount is 4% higher than current, no color"
I dont get this one. I see game that are at 90% discount, and their highest is 95, or 98, and its still no color. Shouldnt it be green by this logic?
Nope. It's green, for example, when highest ever discount is 94% and current discount is 90%.
Thanks for update. It's very handy.
I like them.
Thanks for update, but is it possible to add filter, to show only apps with blue/green color?
Great update. As InquisitorAles noted, it would be very handy during a large/seasonal sale to be able to select only games with blue or green coloration. Keep up the good work.
